'What is Psychology doing for Autism? A brief look at past research and where it is heading.'

This social event combines a talk and social drinks where you can meet other Open University Psychology students in the London Region both before and after the talk.

We are delighted to have Professor Dermot Bowler giving this talk.

Professor Bowler graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1976 and gained his PhD from the University of London in 1986. After working at the Thomas Coram Research Unit and the Medical Research Council, he joined City University London as a lecturer in 1990. He has also held honorary positions at the Universite de Montreal and is currently an adjunct professor at McGill University, Montreal.

Professor Bowler's research interests focus on memory in people from the high functioning end of the autism spectrum, and have been generously supported by the Medical Research Council, the Economic and Social Research Council, the Wellcome Trust, the Nuffield foundation and Autism Speaks. His most recent book is 'Autism Spectrum Disorders: a psychological approach'.
