COUPS DE200 Springboard day
14th October 2017, Hills College, Cambridge
Our course Springboard Days days are intensive days in which we provide students with a kick start to a module. They are similar to our overview days but delivered right up front to provide an overall framework on which students can build their module knowledge. The day is intended to give a very good grounding for starting your core psychology at second level. It will present a foundation for your studies by providing you with an overview of the important aspects of the module and giving you a framework for studying the module material and advice as to how to best tackle your studies.
Dr Alan Pechey is a very experienced OU psychology tutor. He currently tutors on E219 and DE200 (having previously been a tutor for over 20 years on OU child development and cognitive psychology courses) and is a popular tutor at residential Schools and OUPS Weekends. He has a masters (in cognitive development) and a PhD (looking at human memory) from Cambridge University.
Registration is from 9.30am and sessions start at 10.00am.
The day includes tea and coffee breaks along with a break for lunch (students need to bring their own!). These times are great for you to talk to other students and the tutors in a relaxed environment.
Four sessions will be presented to cover the following subject areas:
- Investigating Social Psychology
- Investigating Cognitive and Biological Psychology
- Investigating Developmental Psychology
- How to do well in DE200 – TMAs and Exam
The day finishes at 3:00pm and often tutors and students go to a nearby café/pub for food and drink.
The event will be held at Hills College, Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 8PE
