LOUPS Conference - Criminology
The London branch of the Open University Psychological Society welcomes all to attend our Annual Day Conference on the theme of Criminology.
It is open to all students, graduates, academics and and practitioners, both within and outside of the Open University. It will appeal to all those interested in Criminology and Forensic Psychology and those working or interested in related settings and applied psychology. We have managed to bring together a fantastic panel of speakers and the event promises to be one of our most interesting to date.
The list of confirmed speakers is:
- Dr. Victoria Canning (The Open University)
- 'Criminology from Below: Harm and Structural Violence in the British Asylum System'
- Professor Andrew Silke (University of East London)
- 'Criminology and Terrorism'
- Professor David Wilson (Birmingham City University)
- 'Murder and serial murder in Britain'
- Dr. Jane Wood (University of Kent)
- 'Identifying the psychology of gang membership'
Registration will take place in the ground floor reception area from 9.30am.
The event involves a series of 4 lectures with the opportunity to ask questions.
Talks start at 10.00am in the Cayley Theatre (ground floor).
Tea and coffee breaks along with a break for lunch allow attendees to take time to socialise at the venue or to take advantage of the many food outlets available in the vicinity of the University.
The day finishes at around 5.30pm.
